Bridges

If you are missing one or more teeth, our practiced dentist, Dr. Jeffrey A. Carson, may suggest a dental bridge. Dental bridges are fixed (permanent) dental appliances that use replacement teeth and a variety of cementing treatments to restore your smile after tooth loss. There are many types of dental bridges available based on your individual needs, goals, and which teeth need replacing. Available at our office are traditional dental bridges, cantilever bridges, and resin-bonded bridges.

Traditional dental bridges use two dental crowns cemented to the teeth adjacent to the empty gap to hold your new tooth in place. Cantilever bridges are similar and use dental crowns but are implemented when there are no teeth on one side of the gap. For your front teeth, resin-bonded bridges are often suggested. Instead of dental crowns, small metal clasps sometimes referred to as “wings” are cemented to the back of your teeth to stabilize your new tooth.

Dr. Jeffrey A. Carson will work together with you to determine which type of dental bridge in Cleveland, Tennessee, is ideal for your smile.
